Value Engineering
ADCON uses a systematic approach to evaluate alternative methods of construction or acquisition of an item to be utilized as part of a new or renovated building project. The minimum quality of the item is established by drawing(s) and/or specification(s). The overall cost of the item is estimated by the total of the costs of (a) its purchase and installation (or the purchase of its components and their installation), plus (b) the present value of the operating and maintenance costs over the estimated service life of the installation, plus (c) the present value of the item’s replacement cost. Other factors may include prior experience (either favorable or unfavorable) with one or more alternatives, and the effect or future monetary inflation (which is difficult to estimate).
