President’s House National Historic Project
Cost of Construction: $10 Million
This project is commemorating the site of the executive mansion where Presidents George Washington and John Adams lived and worked by constructing a permanent outdoor structure that does not require heating/cooling or staffing. The project is located at 6th and Market Streets in Philadelphia and will connect to the Liberty Bell Pavilion. ADCON was selected by the Project Architect on behalf of the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Property and the National Park Service to perform the civil engineering and design services, including drawings and specifications. Due to the historic nature of the project, ADCON reviewed the archaeological and geotechnical information for the site in order to be able to protect the existing underground 18th & 19th century archaeological remnants during construction as well as to provide proper drainage throughout the site.
